Blessing Box

Leesville Methodist Church has been blessed with a Blessing Box, and we intend to use it to bless others! We have set up our box on the office side of the church, on the edge of the parking lot. This box will be open to all to donate or take items, and the box will be accessible 24/7. Check out more details below.

What is a Blessing Box?

A Blessing Box is a free community pantry. Neighbors are encouraged to take what they need and leave what they can to help others. This could include things like personal hygiene items, baby supplies, nonperishable foods, cleaning supplies, and more. To see what items we are accepting not for the box, please continue scrolling!

Why Support our Blessing Box?

Our community needs you! Many members in our community are struggling, and through supporting our box with your prayers and/or donations, you are helping them. We have been called by Christ to bless others, and this allows us to do that.

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

The the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' Matthew 25:37-40

What Items Can You Donate?

Due to the summer heat of South Carolina, we have to be careful about what we put in our Blessing Box. Most canned goods are not good after are exposed to temperatures over 85 degrees. With that being said, here are items we are currently collecting:

  • Dry Foods: Cereals, Pasta, Mac & Cheese Cups, Ramen, beans, rice, chips, crackers, dried fruit, oatmeal

  • Other Foods: granola bars, nut packs, peanut butter, raisins, muffin mix, etc.

  • Paper Products: Toilet paper, silverware packs, paper towels, tissues

  • Personal Care Items: Soap, brushes, Band-Aids, toothbrushes & toothpaste

  • Water Bottles

  • Feminine Hygiene Products

  • Diapers of various sizes, baby wipes.

What Not to Donate?

While we appreciate all generosity, if any of the following items are donated, they will either be disposed of or passed on to a local food pantry.

  • Canned goods during the summer heat

  • Foods packaged in glass (ex. pasta sauce)

  • Perishable items like fresh produce

  • Homemade baked goods.

  • Dented, damaged, or opened packages
