Shut-Ins Ministry
About 1 in 8 older adults are shut-ins. Some in our church are missing the opportunity to worship with other believers or even to get a hug. If God is speaking to you about these members, let us meet to discuss ways to make connections and meet some of the needs of “the least of these” in our congregation. A meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 13th at 7 pm in the conference room.

Friends & Family Bingo
Our second friends & family bingo event will take place in the Fellowship Hall from 3-4 pm on Sunday, August 16th. Each family is asked to bring a dessert for their “admission.” We will sample the sweet treats and then get started with bingo. Bring your friends and family, even if they don’t belong to LMC.
Church Council Meeting
The Church Council will meet on Thursday, August 20th at 7 pm in the Conference Room.
Nominations Committee Meeting
The Nominations Committee will meet in the Conference Room on Tuesday, August 18th at 7 pm.
Newsletter Submission Deadline
Thursday, August 20th is the deadline to submit articles, photos, or other information for the September Newsletter. Please send all submissions to Wendy Zwart (boykinw@aol.com).
m&m's August Event
The m&m's next event is planned for Sunday, August 23 following the 11am service. This event is co-sponsored by the Bill Jones Sunday School class. We will have a meal followed by a presentation from the SC Department of Consumer Affairs on the topic of scam awareness and prevention. A sign-up sheet will be provided outside the sanctuary and in the fellowship foyer. Please sign-up by Sunday, August 16.

Fall Bible Study
Join Pastor Drew for our fall Bible study: The Epic of Eden: Understanding The Old Testament. This excellent study was written by Old Testament scholar Dr. Sandra Richter and will include a recorded lecture by Dr. Richter each week. We will meet in the conference room, and there will be 12 sessions, with each session lasting about 75-90 minutes. There will also be personal study to be done 5 days a week. You can sign up to attend Wednesday evenings at 7 (starting September 9th) or Thursday mornings at 10 (starting September 10th). The cost is $35. Please make your check payable to the church and note "Pastor's Bible Study" in the memo line.
