Our History
Prior to 1881, the Methodists of Leesville had to travel two miles by horse and buggy over muddy roads to be part of a Methodist congregation served by a circuit rider. On December 8, 1880, D.T. Barr made a motion that Leesville Church be received in the circuit of the Gilbert Hollow Charge, Columbia District. The motion was adopted. On January 25, 1881, a one-acre lot on Old Augusta Highway was purchased for forty dollars, and a wooden structure was built. The church was chartered on Easter Sunday, 1881.

About Our Mission

Our mission is to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. LMC is a vibrant, caring congregation where our Faith, Beliefs, and Actions serve as our light and witness to the power of God and His grace through His son, Jesus Christ, the Light of the world.
We seek to be the light through prayer, praise fellowship, and outreach to serve our church family, the Batesburg-Leesville Community, and the community worldwide to the glory of God. Matthew 5:16
